We’ll spend a full, focused day together in a relaxed, inspiring location, mapping out your goals and creating a step by step plan to help you grow with confidence. This isn’t a generic “business chat”, it’s tailored entirely to you, your treatments, and the career you want to build.

We’ll break everything down into achievable steps, covering the skills, strategies, and confidence building you need to move forward. Lunch is included, and the day is designed to feel both productive and empowering.

After our day together, you’ll get four weekly 1-2-1 video calls to guide you as you put your plan into action, troubleshoot challenges, and keep you accountable. Perfect if you’re ready for structured guidance, personalised advice, and the motivation to make real progress fast.

I’ll come to your salon, clinic, or treatment space for a full day dedicated entirely to you and your skills. Together, we’ll arrange models so you can practise the facials you’re already qualified in but don’t yet feel fully confident delivering.

Throughout the day, I’ll give you personalised, hands on guidance. From refining your technique and improving treatment flow, to tips for client comfort. We’ll work through any challenges you face in real time, so you finish the day feeling more confident, capable, and ready to offer these treatments to paying clients.

My name is Emily Britten, a multi award winning Skin Specialist based in Ashford Kent. I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2011, and I know first hand what it feels like to be newly qualified. Full of passion but unsure how to turn that into a thriving career.

When I first qualified as a beauty therapist, I struggled to get employment because of my “lack of experience.” I started out self employed in a salon one day a week, while also taking an employed role in a fish pedicure spa (yes, really!) where I eventually moved into regular pedicures alongside the fish treatments.

A few months later, I landed my first part time role in a spa, where I stayed for three years, while also working part time in a friend’s salon.

I’ve experienced almost every working setup in this industry: employment, self-employment, spas, clinics, and hair and beauty salons. It hasn’t all been smooth sailing, I was even sacked from a clinic just two weeks before Christmas. But every step, even the hard ones, taught me something invaluable about resilience, adaptability, and finding the right path.

In 2018, I made the leap to being 100% self employed. For years, I rented rooms from other businesses, before opening my own space in May 2022, a place I still proudly run today.

Over the years, I’ve learned that treatments are only one part of the job. Building a career you love takes time, confidence, skills, and a plan that works for you. Whether that means going self employed, working in a salon, or a mix of both.

That’s exactly why I created my post qualification support. I’ve been where you are, I’ve walked every path, and I can guide you through those uncertain early steps so you can focus on doing what you love, and building a career that truly works for you.
